Untold Stories 41: The USEFUL PAGE

Every Era there will be a new pattern of education system. Several years ago started with writing on stone walls, then carried on with writing on leaves, then followed by writing on paper
which is still used, and now the era of using Character user interface or modernly Graphical user inter phase i.e E-Books.
I Tapish Dongre have taken birth somewhere between the era of paper and e-paper. But in my Class Xth I can say due to very less access of Computers, Paper system was the most prominent one.
As Most of My primary education was in India, and particularly Southern Part of India, The local Education pattern had a major impact on me. Though we were in Co-Ed, but the mentality was
just as if we are studying in Boys/Girls schools separately. I remember after school hours, when I use to take a bicycle ride to Ravi Kiran​’s house, though one of batch mate was living
just above his house, was seldom use to get along, not because she dint want to…but as the society dint allow to.
Now I hope situations have been differed. And Pairs of Girlfriend and Boyfriend starts long before students enter in Class Xth, but the strong routes of Cultural Restriction are deep down spread along.

One of the Most followed practice was to Respect the Paper.
Locals believed that the paper is form of God, Then Books can be intreperated as GOD. The thin line giving the connection is that: Education is coming out of books and thus
Books are the representation of “Sarasawati Goddes”.The Goddess of education and Knowledge.

Thus having these concepts we use to think that countries outside India must be very bad as they use the Goddess to wipe out their Morning Raga. Having these thought, During my Class Xth (year 2005),
it was very common to go to “TUITION” which are private coaching or guidance after the School Hours. As Education drives money, thus lots and lots of housewife, employs of the surrounding,
and Retired persons started their own Education Classes at their home. Its was just like and Extra income for them that Every evening, when schools are over, and even they finish
the jobs, spend time with 20 to 50 students and teach them one subject and take a small amount form them as education fees.

As there were many tuition teachers it was difficult to choose which one to get admission to. One which is close to house or one which can get you high marks or the one which don’t
be a high investment on parents pocket.

I use to hate the Tuition system as it killed the time for Playing, or Watching TV. But still the subjects you are week into, or the peer pressure, pushes you to finding a personal
tutor and join the institution.

Soon after a new fad came to existence called, “AFTER TUITION TALKS”

We use to gather in Groups at various set points and talk what happened in various Tuition Classes, and the topic were strictly non educational one 🙂 Ha Ha.

So this article’s whole and sole purpose was the reminder of one of the incident which was told to me to Ravi Kiran on an After Tuition Talk session.
He came to me in a very sad tone and said,
Dude, you wont believe what happened in today class!
To which I asked the obvious question, “What??”

And the reply was,

Today My Tuition Aunty was teaching me Mathematics. And her small baby pooped in front of us. Thus she took my Mathematics text book, tore a page and wiped the poop with it in front
of me. I was having no words to reply mate, Saraswati Mata used as Poop Wiper Page. That page was used like this, I mean useful Page, but used like this, Dude my Current Text book, Even my exams are not over for this subject.

Listing to his story I was thinking, may be we local people of ORDNANCE FACTORY (O.D.F) FRNDS​ Kendriya Vidyalaya, Eddumailaram​, are going towards the progress and competing with world by using paper to wipe poop and That child is the first
suitable candidate to do that. Though we cannot go to any other county due to our poor score in Mathematics but I guess this child will do.
Ravi broke me out of my thinking and asked, Dude what Should I do??
To which I had no reply but we laughed out for the whole night imagining the situation again and again…

P.S. Ravi and I both made to Australia to pursue higher Education. And Please dont ask us we use water here or paper.

Untold Stories Post 18: Baby Health Competition

When I was small, Really Really Small and I had no sense of understanding of good vs bad.
So this story is the Interpretation of the data and Pictures I got from my known ones.

Every year in the period of 1989 to 1996, a Baby Health Competition was conducted in Ordnance Factory Chanda, Chandrapur, Maharashtra, INDIA.
I have, actually I was made to participate in the completion by my mother. With the proper care of my diet, neatness and presentation taken by my mother to me, I managed to score the 2nd Position in the competition in the whole estate in the year 1990.
I did not relize but some years back that I missed the 1st position because there was muskara (kajal) on my eyes. This concept was new to me but still is followed in India that a samll Black Dot is kept on the cheek or head or near eyes of a baby to protect him/her form negative energy projected by other living beings. (Mechanism is still unknown to me 🙂
The Doctor told my mother that Applying Muskara near the eye area is harmful for the baby, It may spoil the kid’s eyes and he explained various reasons why the kids shouldn’t be wearing any makeup for any occasion as their safety is more important than their beauty. (And Kids are cute anyways 🙂 )
That Day I definitely lost a competition but my mother Learnt an important lesson. She upgraded from what was taught to her by her surrounding to what a Qualified Doctor explained about baby nurturing. Since then all my pictures I have of my childhood lack the back muskara makeup and the pictures reflect as I am.

I participated the competition again in 1991 and I won the completion, People feel proud to say they they scored highest OP in Australia or Score 90% grade in 12 in India, but I was the one who was Proud to Score the 1st Position just 2 years after my birth 🙂
After 5 years of this incident in 1996 my little sis Kritika Milind Won the Baby health competition in the same place..
The Story Sill Dose not End here..

On a recent conversation in a marriage ceremony, My mom was teaching this concept of Muskara to some of the new born’s mothers and educating them with the knowledge that she learnt.
Mother Tejashri Milind did never stopped at one learned lesson, and kept on learning the latest information, Teenage trends and their psychology and various new stuff which she keep on UPGRADING herself on a day to day basis…
This might be one of the reason she can well communicate with Current Generation Youth and keep guiding them according to the experiences she faced/failed and Upgraded in Life 🙂

SO I guess If Failing in one Baby Health Competition could give such a positive Change, I am ready to fail again and again for a better learning of one’s failure and thereby methods to Win With Strong Base in various field

YOUR TEENAGE BOYFRIEND IS A HORMONE BOMB

 

A letter from a girl who has shyly signed behind a pen name flower:
“I’m in a relationship with a guy for the past seven months, we love each other a lot but… he has now imposed a condition that if I love him, I should have sex with him. I told him honestly that I am not going to do it. It is not necessary that just because we love each other immensely and madly that we have to have sex. He says he loves me, but also wants to possess me physically. Or else, he says he’ll just leave me. I can’t leave him because I love him. What do I do?”

Oh God. Oh God, what a quandary. He wants to do it, but you don’t want to do it. He says sleep with me or walk. You say I won’t sleep with you, but I won’t walk either. You are scared of his lust, while he is maddened with it.
     I know a lot of women readers might disagree with me, but I happen to side the boy’s viewpoint. The days of chivalrous platonic love are over. I doubt whether they ever existed outside fairy tales in the first place.
     Any healthy teenage boy is riddled with hormones and flush with testosterone. He doesn’t have the mindset or maturity to think of love as anything more than an opportunity to have sex.
     His girlfriend can start off a conversation about anything, but you can be sure that in few minutes he will divert it towards sex. If he doesn’t do that , then he is too old for his age and not normal.
     For teenage boys the whole point of having a girlfriend is to jump into bed with her. They get quickly bored with too much talk of love and tenderness, and get tired of just holding hands. They want to grab a girl and kiss, then hug and then…
Boys also hang out with their own groups, where they get their male bonding and thrills. Girls are meant for fun, not just for long boring walks (which they will have, for sure) or long syrupy love talk (which they will talk, as long as they feel they will one day get to have sex).
     So my young friend, please understand this. Your boyfriend was quite honest when he told you to either have sex with him or leave him. He was giving you a practical option, which expressed his sincerity. The fact that he didn’t impose himself on you so far, speaks of his decency.
     The fact that he is lusting for you implies he is just a normal healthy boy.
     The fact that he is now irritated and impatient implies that he is being driven up a wall by your firm and persistent “no”.
I am not advising you to have sex with him. Not at all. You must do what your instincts tell you. If your instincts say “don’t even think of sex”, then you must not.
     But please understand that you are walking around with a hormone bomb in your arms, a guy who is about to explode with frustration of not having sex.
     If you continue this way, you will turn him into a nut case or worse. It’s far better to let him go. Let him find someone else who will give him what he wants, and make him happy.
     You go look for a boy who is willing to just hod hands and take long walks and sigh at sunsets and smile at flowers.

CAM:

A copy made in a cinema using a camcorder, possibly mounted on a tripod. The sound source is the camera microphone. Cam rips can quickly appear online after the first preview or premiere of the film. The quality ranges from terrible to very good, depending on the group of persons performing the recording and the resolution of the camera used. The main disadvantage of this is the sound quality. The microphone does not only record the sound from the movie, but also the background sound in the cinema. The camera can also record movements of the audience in the theater, for instance, whensomeone stands up in front of the screen.


TS (Telesync) / Pre-DVD :

Contrary to popular belief, the video quality of a TS is not necessarily better than a cam. The term Telesync doesn’t indicate better video quality but better audio quality. The CAM source is then synchronized with a secondary audio recording, either done with a professional microphone in an empty cinema (even though by Scene Rules this would be nuked since the audio is not direct, they are hard to tell the difference), fed directly from the cinema’s sound system, or captured from an FM radio transmission intended for hearing-impaired customers. Often, a cam is mislabeled as a telesync. PDVD, also known as Pre-DVD, is a release type found mostly in India and/or for Indian movies, with Bollywood movies being the majority. Low quality CAM/TS releases in India put on a DVD and sold on the streets, which are ripped by some release groups and released as PDVD-rips. They are often mistaken for being DVD-rips, due to the name.


Workprint :

A copy made from an unfinished version of a film produced by the studio. Typically a workprint has missing effects and overlays, and often differ from its theatrical release. Some workprints have a time index marker running in a corner or on the top edge; some may also include a watermark. A workprint might be an uncut version, and missing some material that would appear in the final movie.


TC (Telecine) :

A copy captured from a film print using a machine that transfers the movie from its analog reel todigital format. These were rare because telecine machines for making these prints were very costly and very large, however, recently they have become much more common. Telecine has basically the same quality as DVD, since the technique is same as digitizing the actual film to DVD. However, the result is inferior since the source material is usually a lower quality copy reel. Telecine machines usually cause a slight left-right jitter in the picture and have inferior color levels compared to DVD.


PPV (Pay-Per-View Rip):

PPVRips come from Pay-Per-View sources, all the PPVRip releases are brand new movies which have not yet been released to Screener or DVD but are available to view by Hotel customers.
Screener (SCR / DVDSCR / BDSCR):

These are early DVD or BD releases of the theatrical version of a film, typically sent to movie reviewers, Academy members, and executives for review purposes. A screener normally has a message overlaid on its picture, with wording similar to: “The film you are watching is a promotional copy, if you purchased this film at a retail store please contact 1-800-NO-COPIES to report it.” Apart from this, some movie studios release their screeners with a number of scenes of varying duration shown in black-and-white. Aside from this message, and the occasional B&W scenes, screeners are normally of only slightly lower quality than a retail DVD-Rip, due to the smaller investment in DVD mastering for the limited run. Some screener rips with the overlay message get cropped to remove the message and get released misslabled as DVD-Rips. Note: Screeners make a small exception here, since the content may differ from a retail version, it can be considered as lowerquality than a DVD-Rip (even if the screener in question was sourced from a DVD).


Digital Distribution Copy (DDC):

DDC is basically the same as a Screener, but sent digitally (email/ftp/http/etc.) to companies insteadof via the postal system. This makes distribution cheaper. Its quality is lower than one of a R5 but higher than a Cam or a Telesync.


R5 :

The R5 is a retail DVD from region 5. Region 5 consists of the Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia. R5 releases differ from normal releases in that they are a direct Telecine transfer of the film without any of the image processing. If the DVD does not contain an English-language audio track, the R5 video is synced to a previously released English audio track. Then a LiNE tag is added. This means that the sound often isn’t as good as DVD-Rips.


DVD :

A final retail version of a film, typically released before it is available outside its originating region. Often after one group of pirates releases a high-quality DVD-Rip, the “race” to release that film will stop. Because of their high quality, DVD-Rips generally replace any earlier copies that may already have been circulating.
DVD-R:

A final retail version of a film in DVD format, generally a complete copy from the original DVD. If the original DVD is released in the DVD-9 format, however, extras might be removed and/or the video re-encoded to make the image fit the less expensive for burning and quicker to download DVD-5 format. DVD-R releases often accompany DVD-Rips. DVD-R rips are larger in size, generally filling up the 4.37 or 7.95 GiB provided by DVD-5 and DVD-9 respectively.Untouched or lossless rips in the strictest sense are 1:1 rips of the source, with nothing removed or changed, though often the definition is lightened to includeDVDs which have not been transcoded, andno features were removed from the user’sperspective, removing only restrictions and possible nuisances such as copyright warnings and movie previews.


HDTV / DS (TVRip / DSR / PDTV / HDTV / DVB / DTH) :

TVRip is a capturesource from an analog capture card (coaxial/composite/s-video connection)Digital satellite rip (DSR) is a rip that is captured from a non standard definition digital source like satellite.HDTV or PDTV or DTH (Direct To Home)ripsoften come from Over-the-Air transmissions. With an HDTV source, the quality can sometimes even surpass DVD. Movies in this format are starting to grow in popularity.Analog, DSR, and PDTV sources are often re-encoded to 512„1¤7384 if fullscreen, 640„1¤7352 if widescreen. HDTV sources are re-encoded to multiple resolutions such as 640„1¤7352 (360p), 960„1¤7528 (540p), 1280„1¤7720 (720p) at various file sizes for pirated releases. They can be progressive scan captured or not (480i digital transmission).


BD / BR :

Similar to DVD-Rip, only the source is a Blu-ray Disc. ABD/BR Rip in DVD-Rip size often looks better than a same-size DVD rip because encoders have better source material. What is commonly misunderstood among downloaders is that a BDRip and a BRRip is exactly the same. A BDRip comes directly from the BluRay source, and BRRip is encoded from a pre-release, usually from a1080p BDRip from another group. BD Rips are available in DVD-Rip sized releases (commonly 700MB and 1.4GB) encoded in XviD as well as larger DVD5 or DVD9 (often 4.5gb or larger, depending on length and quality) sized releases encoded in x264. BD5 or BD9 are also available, which are slightly smaller than their counterpart DVD5/DVD9 releases, are AVCHD compatible using the BD Folder structure and are intended to be burnt onto DVDs toplay in AVCHD compatible Blu-Ray players. More recent types, probably associated with the use of newsgroups and cheaper storage at home, are complete BluRay copies(images). Commonly referred to as BD25 or BD50 and may or may not be remuxed (but not transcoded).
